A more affordable way for friends to socialize.
Going out with friends often leads to spending money.
The Conversation Cloud provides a solution of inclusivity.
Form Ideation
A “hot tub” style was chosen. Users would face each other in a circle and be sunken in. Users suggested leaning into the “cloudy” aspect, with more organic lumps and forms.
Making
Patterned pieces were drawn onto large paper templates, traced onto vinyl material, and cut. A hair straightener, hot glue gun, PVC glue, and wax paper were used to bond the pieces from the bottom up, keeping seams on the inside.
Manufacturing
A quote was submitted to Custom Inflatables. Dimensions on an Illustrator file were sent, along with corresponding 3D dimensions and an exploded view to better visualize. After discussing the project with Hely Romero, it was found that the project was doable. Adjustments to the seam placements, however, would need to be made.
